I’m an award-winning science presenter and journalist with a background in physics.

Podcasts and radio
I present podcasts and radio programmes for the BBC World Service, including CrowdScience, where I investigate listeners’ science questions, and Unexpected Elements, which explores the science behind news headlines. I also present Wind Down Wisdom on Classical Wind Down for BBC Radio 3, sharing science-backed ways to relax.

Recently, I developed and presented my own series for BBC Radio 4, Looking for No Man’s Land, where I try to find somewhere on Earth unaffected by humans.

I’m currently making another Radio 4 series, Last Orders, where I examine the UK’s changing relationship with alcohol.
Alongside presenting, I regularly appear as a science ‘expert’ on shows including Inside Science on BBC Radio 4, and The Climate Question and What in the World on the BBC World Service.

TV
I host The Engineers, where I chair conversations with world-leading experts for BBC World TV.
I’ve also appeared on international channels, including DR in Denmark and Bulgarian National Television, where I’ve featured as an expert guest.

Social media
I create science videos for clients and my personal accounts. Across platforms, my videos have accumulated over 20 million views.
I also regularly feature on YouTube episodes of What in the World and The Climate Question.
Talks and live events
I love making science come alive on stage through chairing panels, giving talks, and literally blowing things up during live science shows.

Education
I have an MA in Physical Sciences (specialising in physics) from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Science Communication from Imperial College London.
